Abstract

Did you know that the 1964 Tokyo Olympics was the first time a woman (American Lana du Pont) competed in the same eventing competition as men at Olympic level? And now Germany’s Julia Krajewski has become the first ever woman to win an Olympic individual eventing gold medal. But why has it taken 57 years?
