Abstract

This chapter will present an overview of the current training structure of sport and exercise psychology in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States of America and Australia. By delimiting itself to these areas, it is hoped that readers interested in investigating training structures in other parts of the world have a framework to follow. Throughout the chapter, there will be a range of activity boxes intended to help you explore and apply the information presented. In concluding the chapter, a
case study will be presented to provide evidence of the work of an ASEP practitioner, demonstrating the utility of theory in the development and evaluation of applied interventions.
