Abstract

This paper presents a summary of the key themes emerging from the reflexive conversation with Olympic diving coach Andy Banks. Exploration of these themes reveals not only how Banks works in such a high performance environment, but also where this Olympic coach came from, and how his deep-rooted philosophies inform his coaching practice. Projections are also made for the legacy of the London 2012 Olympics including the future of coach development. We begin by reflecting on Banks? ultimate aim; to help athletes achieve their potential, or 'reach their ceiling'.
