Description
Large-scale biodiversity monitoring that captures spatial and temporal changes across land use is challenging but is needed not only to address biodiversity decline but also to support new schemes such as Biodiversity Net Gain. Tracking the sounds of wildlife using bioacoustic technology has proved very promising. The support from Digital Catapult Accelerator Programme and Innovate BridgeAI has united experts in bioacoustic monitoring with those in the field to deliver solutions

Key findings
Two companies have developed individual solutions that will be commercially available to support land owners and managers in enhancing, measuring and understanding biodiversity through bioacoustic monitoring.
