Active Essex is seeking an academic partner to work as part of the evaluation team from
May 2025 to March 2028.
The primary role of the academic partner will be to take a high-level view of Place Partnership evaluation, assimilate the information being gathered and use their expertise to give advice and guidance on the direction, methodology, methods and execution of evaluation work at both strategic and operational levels. The academic partner will also
be required to:
• Work collaboratively with embedded researchers to produce an/or quality assure key
outputs.
• Advise and support with sharing & learning to inform decision making and practice,
including supporting in the transition from Local Delivery Pilot to ‘place-based expansion’
(Essex-wide).
• Gain ethical approval for evaluation work through their institution.
HU have been the current evaluation partner since July 2021 and have secured extensions throughout that time. We feel like we are in the suitable position to apply again for this work as HU in its own right that does not include SHU ort Durham University.
