Personal profile
Overview
Born in Curaçao, the Caribbean, and having spent my pre-adolescent years in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania has made me open-minded, cultured, and empathetic to different points of view. I am a very active and proactive person who loves having variety in their role whilst mainintaing high attenion to detail, being adaptable and working under pressure. As a result, my education and work careers have crossed over multiple times; I have started up businesses within the equine sector in Vietnam (2014), England (2020) and Italy (2022). I obtained my BSc (Hons) Equine Science from Hartpury/UWE in 2017 and my MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience in Mental Health from King's College London in 2020.
In the past year I have obtained my First Aid at Work and Mental Health First Aider qualifications and I am currently working towards obtaining my PGCert in Higher Education through the University of Greenwich.
Within my current role as lecturer, I am also an academic personal tutor and programme manager for the BSc (Hons) Equine Business Management degree. I lead on modules such as: Equestrian Project Management, Equestrian Research in Professional Practice, Sustainability and Global Responsibility within the Equestrian Sector, and Sales, Negotiation and Customer Service.
When I am not trying to create debates or inspire the students, I enjoy a range of activities such as: learning new languages, travelling, cooking, horseback riding, photography, and reading. I also have a passion for trying to see how I can have a positive impact on the world around me, whether that is for animals, humans, or the planet.
I am currently training for my first ever marathon (Lisbon 2025!), so wish me luck!
