Overview

Laurence works within the Higher Education University Sport Department at Hartpury University. Currently in his 6th year of HE teaching, Laurence specialises predominantly in Physiology, Biomechanics and Nutrition. Whilst his main teaching focus is within sport, and spans across Level 4, 5 and 6 students, Laurence has also delivered to Level 7 MSc students in Strength and Conditioning, as well as providing guest teaching sessions to Equestrian Sport Science students.

 

Alongside teaching, Laurence has developed an extensive background in industry-facing consultancy and commercial work including athlete performance testing and monitoring, data acquisition, processing and analysis, provision of training recommendations, and return to play assessments. Laurence has worked with teams and individuals from youth and grass-roots level, throughout the competitive spectrum to elite international athletes, as well as para-world championship, Paralympian, and World Record breaking competitors.

 

Laurence is also currently completing his British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES) Accreditation to become an Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist, with an anticipated completion date of the summer of 2024. 

 

In recent months, Laurence has taken on the responsibility of promoting the Higher Education University Sport department via the @HartpuryUniSport instagram page, regularly interacting with prospective students and parents, sharing current student achievements, highlighting specific and/or outstanding Program and Module activities, and continually highlighting Hartpury University's links with industry partners
