Overview
Dr John K. Parker is a Reader in Sport Psychology at Hartpury University having completed his PhD in 2012, investigating the characteristics of imagery use in youth athletes. John has been a researcher, applied sport psychologist, and academic for over 17 years and is also a PGA Fellow Golf Professional. John has been the programme manager for the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences degree programme at Hartpury University and contributes extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate sport and exercise psychology provision and supervision. In addition, John has acted as an external examiner for a variety of PGR projects at both doctoral and MRes level. John’s research interests lie in mental imagery in sport, psychological skills training, mental toughness, and the synthesis between exercise, mental health, and wellbeing. John’s applied consultancy spans a number of sports at various competitive levels with a view to enhancing performance and athlete wellbeing
