Personal profile
Overview
I have been a chartered physiotherapist since 1995 and over those years have developped an interest in musculoskeletal conditions initially within the context of competitive sailing but also the general population. My interest in broadening my skills to veterinary physiotherapy resulted in an MSc at Hartpury in 2016 afterwhich I have pursued a career working in neuromuscular rehabilitation of small animals, working in a number of veterinary specialist referral centres. My key focus is neuromuscular rehabilitation in small animals - canine and especially felines, an often overlooked area.
I have a special interest in understanding pain and in particular ways that we can identify factors that might influence the management of small animals with pain through exercise and other physiotherapy approaches, partnership with caregivers and working within the multidisciplinary team.
I published my clinical paper in 2019 looking at the thoracolumbar position during the application of craniocaudal spinal mobilisation in clnical sound leisure horses.
