Exploring public perceptions of animal-visitors interactions in BIAZA zoos

Description

People are central to Zoos and aquariums, enabling them to achieve mission, through positive engagement. There are, however, few data available to enable us to fully understand the perceptions, motivations, behaviour and/or the impact a zoo or aquarium visit, to better inform engagement. In this talk I will summarise findings framed by the Global Reach of zoos and aquariums, providing a focus on who visits BIAZA zoos and aquariums, what they think about Animal-Visitor Interactions and what their staff feel about Management Euthanasia?
